spatchcock Duval Timothy triggers warm emotions with simple means. I heard Whatsapp on Radio 3 in the middle of the night, in the middle of the lockdown, and it was just perfect. Favorite track: Whatsapp.

Ben Harris I'll admit I was a little underwhelmed the first time I played this album. I was drawn to the nice contrast between fragmentary photograph and pure colour on the cover art, but being less-than-familiar with this kind of music playing the whole album for the first time it sort of slid over my notice. However these individual tracks have, by chance, cropped up on my mp3 player during shuffle mode and I'm slowly become acquainted with their tuneful charms. Nice little breaks from my usual fare! Favorite track: No.

ericatimothy Emmerson's message is soooo emotional, I love it; No is amazing, and and I love the slide guitar. The whole album is fabulous.

The album is the product of Duval spending the last two years living between London, UK and Freetown, Sierra Leone.

'Sen Am' is a Krio phrase that means 'send it' or 'send him/her

Throughout the record friends and family from Sierra Leone appear through Whatsapp voice notes that speak over solo piano and layered instrumental compositions.

The LP was recorded in London (UK), Bath (UK), Freetown (SL), Tokyo (JP), Kyoto (JP).

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
